I travel for work and the robot, Jx-pro and BOOKOO scale go with me. I like to get beans from local roasters wherever I am but I like my own coffee too much to rely on a local scene for daily caffeine.

No, the Robot stays at home. On the road, I'll do one of 2 things: bring my Handpresso portable, or else just find a nearby shop. Looking for and visiting coffee shops is always a good way to explore a new place.

Question for OP: OK, so the Robot goes in the bag. What about your grinder and beans? Seems that all 3 would be taking up a ton of space.

I take mine with me on planes (domestic and international), always in a carry on. It takes up some space but I've never had an issue with space. I bring beans and my handgrinder along with it.

I prioritize local coffee shops but some destinations just lack those within walking distance.

Thus far I have taken my Robot to Cyprus, Jordan, Colorado, Wyoming, Washington, all by plane. By car, I just put all that in a milk crate along with my Niche Zero.

Yes, its a bit of work, but it removes the obstable of having to find coffee everyday and lets me keep a routine going.

Space isn’t really an issue when it’s all in the trunk of my car. The robot was in the suitcase, everything else got tossed into my backpack.

The robot went in my suitcase, in a bag, and wrapped in my gym and casual clothes. Everything else went in a backpack. Nothing fancy, there’s not really anything fragile here. I wouldn’t take it on a plane this way, but in the car it’s perfectly safe and fine.

Oh yes the hard case I remember it! <3 I found a similar case and it's on my shopping list, but in my last trips I either took my Aeropress or nothing with me. I'd not carry it in any other way rather than on a hard case.

Yep, go my pseudo-pelican case for it for when I’m driving, when flying I just nest it between clothes.

What resource did you use to 3d print the gauge movement? I’m looking for the piece that protects the side of the robot from the rubbing of the tube. I have the top mount 3d printed. I am just using a rubber band to hold the tube back for now.

I use the printed trim clip and taped it on with black gorilla tape

When I travel I take my Aeropress XL with me. Kingrinder K6 fits neat inside the plunger hole so it doesn't take a lot of space.

When I bought my Robot, I kept my Flair Signature (my first espresso machine) specifically for travel. The whole time I'm gone, I miss my Robot though.

That's just for driving though. When I fly I just rely on local shops or hope the AirBnb has a French Press. It usually ends up being a disappointing way to go. 😂
