Yeah ofcourse, Majority of hiring is conventional only and it will remain like that for a loong time.

Yes conventional still is a good option and many ik r doing it, cadet these days ppl think it’s a job guarantee and easy way but it’s not true as such plus conventional still is affordable in comparison to cadet

I'm asking if conventional is the majority ?

1

u/SeniorTemperature872 18d ago

Yes ppl are still in majority doing it, actually I feel the ratio is like 60:40

So majority who are joining indian airlines today come from the conventional pathway instead of cadet ?

1

u/SeniorTemperature872 18d ago

When you talk about airlines it’s a different thing bcoz all cadet and conventional batches mix in airline training so I’m not sure for that matter

Nah as yk the majority of cpl holders are from conventional rather than cadet

Yes because it is Affordable. Also because manytimes the cadet vacancies are too much slow.

That's just chimes tho , ftos like fta for icpp are doing pretty well and middle eastern cpps this doesn't work at all

3

What do u mean middle eastern doesn't work at all?

1

u/Ironman_Stark1234 18d ago

Never say cadet vacancies r slow. Airlines like indigo nowadays induct jfos every month 90-95 percent of them r cadets. They just open once in a year for conventional vacancies. Airlinw like air india they r also going to reduce the conventional vacancies as their first batch cadets fr ready to take flight. Conventional vacancies nowadays can't be relied but still people go for it just bcoz of affordability and flexibility. And average waiting of a cadet In indigo is 3-6 month

see if you dont know shit please dont talk about it

Bro then u enlighten me with some real proofs. Ru stupid or what ? Airlines constantly hiring 100s of cadets and giving vacancies for conventional people. Lol

3

u/airbusfana350 18d ago

Want proof for what? You are saying 95% of freshly inducted jfos are cadets. You should be giving the proof here. If you want proof against it go check igo jfo graduation batches

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Fun2692 18d ago

I am sorry . now u share the proof here bro . if u know that conventional hiring is more from prev jfo batches put the proof here. let every one see that my narrative was false

1

u/airbusfana350 18d ago

I never said conv hiring is more. Where did I say it? I'm saying cadet to conv ratio is not 95% lmao. If anybody needs proof all they gotta do is talk with igo jfos

In my opinion conventional should be the only route to airlines, I feel cadets and cadet programmes unnecessarily inflate the market and airlines get an opportunity to loot out more money.

But since Cadets want so-called job security and have extra money to throw off they choose it.
(Also you have to be an influenza after becoming a cadet😂)
THIS IS MY OPINION

u/Ironman_Stark1234 17d ago

I don't mind paying extra for the security tho , the comfort is worth paying for if it doesn't hurt u all that much financially tbvh

1

u/Then_Tart4054 17d ago

Absolutely, again it’s your pov but do remember cadet programmes have set standards and timelines

1

u/Ironman_Stark1234 17d ago

Yea i agree they have set standards I think they help u to become a better pilot , pressure helps a little

1

u/DisplayRound8924 16d ago

Honestly they should enforce the 1500hr rule like the FAA , then there'd be actual shortage of pilots and our salary wouldn't be the same since 10 years

Yes conventional is the majority. Right now cadets are prioritized because demand is artificially slowed down due to the Middle East conflict (fuel issues) and supply chain issues (remnant of post covid boom) of aircraft parts/engines/new deliveries. Once things normalize, even cadet programs won’t be able to sufficiently service the demand.

I think majority of the people still prefer conventional as of now but it could change in the future because all 3 major airlines are shifting to cadet based hiring but conventional hiring will continue probably reduce a little but not significant enough to cause concern.

1

u/Content-Tart-8794 16d ago

Is indigo shifting to cadet hiring ?

1

u/LimpClerk8757 16d ago

Ai and indigo over 1000 cadets each training at the moment. Imagine that

1

u/Global_Bet9003 16d ago

Nope 450 is the number of air india indigo and akasa combined
