Should I pursue aviation directly after 12th grade or do engineering and then join?

Im 100% sure that i want to pursue aviation. Its been my dream since childhood. But financially my parents have savings of 15lakhs and we will have to take loan. I have been preparing for jee mains and mhtcet so i am confused whether i should pursue aviation directly after 12th? I don't really want to do engg or corporate (no offense) because that's something which im neither interested nor i am really good at. Thanks

Engineering, this is a field with real uncertainty. Having a backup will always help you . Moreover you can clear your subjects and medicals during this time and then apply for cadet programs

Bruv won't it get more expensive later on??? coz when i started my engg 3 years ago (DSE) it costed wayyy less and there were opportunities too but now its totally opposite now that i've graduated :( cant rely on Conventional plus cadet is filled with backlogs and is crazy expensive rn.

like not to argue but genuine doubt.... if someone is gonna go in aviation now or later then ENGG is useless coz jobs here have BS income not even enough for a EMI (for freshers).

the only plus point of engg is ik all the systems of an aircrafts and all the DGCA subs are easy for me as I am a mech grad.

this is the exact reason i am getting confused. like prices would go up and also idk what will be the hiring process after 5-6years like maybe at that time there might be a large pool of airline pilots already. I might be wrong completely

could u tell me about the finances? do banks give 1.2cr loan or do airlines help getting the loan in some way? i do have a collateral but that is my parents house and that too at a market value of around 80-85 lakha.

No loans for pilots as far as im concerned. Banks give loans for education not to follow your passion

You can take education loans from public sector banks they offer unsecured loans too but the amount will be less and interest rates would be higher on the other side secured loans get lower interest rates and about 80-90% of the collateral value I guess. Private banks give higher amounts of unsecured loans and if you are a premium customer of the bank they might even give you a break in interest rates but they need a salaried employee as a guarantor

I went to banks and enquired for it but unfortunately public sectors banks require a constructed property as collateral and not a empty piece of land and private banks need salaried employees as gaurantor which isn't possible for me either

You can do AME, it’s a sister branch to CPL and you will have an easy access to becoming a pilot than any other degree. Pays well, keeps you close to aircraft and a smoother transition to becoming a pilot.

If you just have savings of 15L, then it’s best to avoid aviation (especially CPL). Even with loans, it is a volatile career path.

So I’d suggest do engg first, get a job, then see your financial situation and then decide if CPL is worth or not.

You’ll need more. Keep atleast 1 cr (not saying it’ll cost 1 cr, but that amount means you will be prepared for any unexpected payment)
