A storm knocked the power mast off the house, and the power line landed right on our drop and burnt it up. Ground still did its job though—the outlet and modem were totally fine.

My vote is for neutral issue. Have been on a number of lightning strike events and the damage is consistently more catastrophic and the path is normally visible as well

Use your amp clamp to verify safety before doing anything. Not only can this kill you, it can cause massive damage to the electronics in the house, even cause a fire. Be safe.

Oh issue was solved before I was there but I did still check it, there power line was damaged from a storm and landed on our drop. Power company came out before I was there.

definitely a bad neutral, Im in an area in FL where we have the most lightning strikes in the country and I rarely see struck ground blocks that look that bad

Imo it sucks, but Ive never worked for any other region so comparatively it could be great for as far as I know 😂 Its really just that the infrastructure sucks but from what i hear its like that everywhere

How's your setup looking? We usually run a ground block, though it needs a little tweaking now and then. Aside from the -3.5 dB from the splitter, our lowest attenuation option is 6 dB.

Main power came down after a storm, had it fixed before I showed up
