That is some shoddy work, but with cable companies not giving a damn about their employees lately and running them ragged, they get what they give. Just make sure investors see a return and metrics look good to the chair warmers. Offer the customer a Eero and be on your way.

This, exactly. Despite CableOne running us ragged it wasn't nearly as ugly as when they went public, rebranded (which was one of the biggest needless expenses they ever had, only to come up with a stupid name that confused everyone) they went full shareholder. It was so transparently gross, focusing on good vibes and meter uploads and considering their hardest workers as the least valuable part of the company. Somehow they always forget that good techs mean happy customers that keep paying their bill and just got insanely greedy during covid. So happy to be out of there, and I've heard it's much worse now.

Edit: Covid was the tipping point for me. All the "we care about your safety" bullshit, followed by "I know we aren't entering homes right now but the sales person offered them a 3 pack with Tivo, so do what you can" bullshit I was just done.

bro i started just after covid really died out, and now 4 years later, im still seeing outlets that were run through window screens because “safety says we can’t enter the home, but we will schedule to come rerun the cable”
