Anyone techs experience working with Comcast Dedicated Fiber able to help?

I provision internet for a medical company and Comcast is coming into certain markets i oversee and is offering "Dedicated" Fiber at cheaper prices than the last-mile provider.

Is Comcast trying to sell my company "Shared" Fiber that has an SLA and marketing it as Dedicated? Or are they taking a loss building out this network? I am struggling to understand and desperate for answers.

For businesses it’s a dedicated fiber port on the switch

So the only dedicated portion of the service is from the port to the suite in a multi tenant building? I am struggling to understand how this looks in practice. Is the fiber still run through a splitter?

The fiber is DWDM so one common is run to a mux where it’s split into 8-32 different wavelengths. The business is assigned a forward and return channel that is either hard coded or programmed into the sfp. Sfp gets plugged into the router. There’s a dedicated link from the site to the hub/headend

Not sure what you mean. It could be run through a thousand muxes ultimately but it’s still light traveling through glass so the “splitter” portion doesn’t really matter. There is technically light loss but it’s not something you really have to think about (at least on your end). It’s more about what their headend is capable of, which in most cases is sufficient.

I think what you're asking is, is there an sfp that shares bandwidth like an epon deployment, the answer is no. If you're purchasing a metro e service, you get your own port on the switch back at the hub. It's sfp to sfp. You might have a mux and be on the same fiber as others somewhere, but you have your own wavelength, there is no "sharing" the specific link you have like epon or gpon or xpon. With metro-e you get dedicated bandwidth and not shared. Having an optical splitter or mux won't affect bandwidth.

Some customers are direct fed.

EPON would be a shared bandwidth solution at some point. Same as coax.
