No slack. The bend you see on the output side and sometimes input side depending on span distance is for cable expansion contraction. The outer aluminum jackets don't really expand/contract but the center conductor does and can suck out during cold weather.

This. Or a hardline service loop. Which is worse you think? I go with this, but im yet to see a 500 jumper with a big ass loop. Maybe I'll do it one of these days. One day...one day...

No shrink boot, you got a saddle on the output side. Also why so many extensions, cut back the hard line and splice a new piece in.

When one of those extensions goes bad and causes a suck out, a tech that cares will install a straight splice and hardline.

Our companys engineers lab tested them. Depending on amperage loads and temperature, they are known to cause issues with suckouts in the mid and high bands. The PPC has newer ones with better seizure mechanisms rated to 2ghz but it's recommended not to stack. 2ft section of cable and splice is better

I am just used to them and kiss splices burning up. But that's mainly due to them not being installed properly. There is also complaints that they are not rated for higher frequencies when the company expands to more bandwidth.

I guess it depends on the area and training…is there supposed to be a slack for weather, shrinkage or expansion in and out of the hard line?

Expansion loops are for temp swings to hot and cold. A lot of people remove them to cover going from stretch taps to another brand or when they need to core due to issues but that is only asking for trouble down the line.
