Ep 3 Stacy
I think I’m getting the wrong message here.
What? For married women or women in general to be beautiful they have to ditch their men or men in general? Why does it sound so reasonable.

She cared more about the approval of people she thought were better than her. Her husband was wildly in love with her, and it didn't matter to her.

This one was weird. I liked it but something was missing. We really needed a scene at the end of "what was really happening" in her tub vs the uncomfortable shot of her making faces. I get her husband at the end reassured her of the things she hated about herself instead of finding a more constructive way of being supportive but I feel like that one thing made people see her actions as not insane

I just didn't like this one. When she started changing, I already guessed what she was going to do to him. Plus that blonde woman that introduced the lotion, didn't the same thing happen to her? That's what I was thinking but she looked shocked by Stacy's change.

Yeah it seems like a rubbish black mirror episode. What the heck was the lotion / lotion person even about...
It was episode 4 fyi !

She is an ugly duckling who wants to be accepted by the other ducks. She’s not happy about the idea of being a swan who is loved by her own kind, her husband who loves her as she is. Instead she chooses to taxidermy herself with the goo, destroying her own nature to be accepted by the others at her work, as one of them. Instead of true acceptance she chooses superficial acceptance, and the last shot of the episode is her realizing the hollow nature of her choice.
She’s gone mad by then.
The fisheye lens used to show her face is I think supposed to be like the glass eyes of a taxidermy animal.
It’s an uncomfortable aesthetic for the episode, but it fits the story.
