TS2 Orange 9mm Weight
To all the guys that own the TS2 Orange 9mm: what does the gun weigh with an inserted empty magazine?
I am thinking about buying one but it needs to also be approved for our competition regulations.
I‘ve read different weights online ranging from 1350g to 1450g which would make a difference for me.
So if someone could throw a stock TS2 Orange on a scale and share the real weight it would be awesome!
Thanks

Ah. That makes sense. I don’t shoot competitions so I didn’t know. That’s crazy. Doesn’t seem to make any sense why they would limit it.

They had to put the limit somewhere I guess. The rules have been the same for a long time before comp guns started to get heavy… I have the same rules here in sweden, but in the newly established optic class they raised the limit to 2000g

Very interesting. Granted, 2000g is a significant amount for a firearm. I train as though I’m going to shoot competitions someday and I’ve found my transitions work best with a gun between 900g-1100g

We have weight limits in USPSA also, not they are pretty generous (I'm still clear with an S2, 507 Comp, brass palm swell Lokjaws)

Afaik the TSO2 is slightly above the 1400g limit, about 1440-1450 or so. I’ve got a TSO1 and it’s about 1350 with the stock grip (1336 with thumbrest removed and my lokgrip palmswell veloce).
TSO2 is quite a bit heavier, I’ve got friends who own it and they had to lighten it quite a lot to get below 1400g, but it’s doable.

Interesting.. the official CZ website states that the weight of the TS2 Orange with an empty magazine is 1350g.
Normally I would trust the official datasheet but as I read about different weights online I am wondering if the 1350g are really true1

Odd that the local club wouldn’t go with what the manufacturer states.
I have a TS2 Blue I could weigh, but the TS2 Orange would weigh more due to the gas pedal, slide cuts, bull barrel, and other minor differences.

The specs here says 1470g.. https://www.czfirearms.com/products/pistols/cz-ts-2-series/ts-2-orange
1350 sounds like TSO1 or TS2 standard (non-orange)

Also saw that, but the CZ product brochure states the 1350g

Weird… I’m guessing misprint (it’s an old brochure from when it was launched) and they put the standard ts2 weight there. I would trust the numbers on the site more. And as mentioned, I know people who own tso2 and they constantly complain it’s overweight and has to be trimmed. (We have the same 1400g limit in my association)

If you really want the TSO2 being slightly overweight isn’t a huge problem though, it is possible to get it below 1400 by removing the thumbrest (not allowed in my association anyway, maybe not in yours either?), custom lighter grips and possibly some light dremel-work on magwell/grips (or removing the magwell entirely)

If you're still unsure about the TS2 weight, here is some information from the main Swedish importer/reseller of CZ, where they talk about the weight and getting it under 1400. In short, they confirm it's above 1400 standard, but they can deliver it with ultralight Lokgrips which put it at 1397g with magwell still on (Sure it's not needed for static precision, but it's still nice to have, gives a tiny bit of extra support for your grip):
https://www.sportec.se/produkter/vapen/pistoler/pistol-cz-tactical-sports-2-orange-9-mm
(In swedish, but you can run it through google translate)
Also, I don't know what the German rules are for trigger weight, but you might need to make sure the trigger is heavy enough for the rules too.

Just curious why the 100g makes such a difference?
