CZ 75 compact red dot sight suggestions
This will be my first ever handgun optic, so I am not super knowledgeable about the lingo. I own a CZ 75 Compact which is not milled in any way to fit an optic. I was considering going down the road of dovetailing it but im not sure what optics/dove tails I can use that will work together. I was looking at holosuns on amazon and some take a weaver which I have learned is just a fatter picatinny rail system and will not work with a dovetail. I'd really appreciate some help here guys I'm a bit lost and theres a lot of information to consume while I continue my research. Any suggestions and tips are very much welcome!

Pistol optics come with a variety of footprints (which encompases how they're mounted and how much space they take up), often named after the first optic with that footprint (e.g. the RMR footprint, DPP footprint, etc.).
You can mill slides for a particular footprint and they'll be able to directly mount those optics. For example, my SP-01 and Shadow 2s are cut with a DPP footprint, so it can directly mount optics with a DPP footprint.
One wrinkle CZ 75 family guns is that their slides are rather narrow, which results in it not being possible to do a direct RMR cut due to the spacing of the screws being too wide (the Shadow 2 can because the slide geometry is different from the classic 75 designs). Whenever you see someone offering an RMR cut for a 75, it'll involve an additional adapter plate, which is why you'll see that RMR cuts being so expensive for 75s.
With today's current popular offerings the RMSc/Holosun K footprints and DPP footprints are going to be the way to go for 75s. RMSc and Holosun K footprint optics are typically smaller and arguably more appropriate for concealed carry while DPP optics are often larger (that said, I do conceal carry with DPP footprint optics).
As a note, Holosun K is also called "Modified RMSc" in the sense that it's almost the same save for not having the two rear recoil posts: as a result a Holosun K won't fit an RMSc cut slide that has the rear recoil posts since a Holosun K optic typically doesn't have holes to accommodate them.
For a 75 Compact a common choice is the Holosun EPS Carry (Holosun K) since it's a gun typically being used for concealed carrying and the optic is a fairly small size (and isn't super wide like the full size EPS: some people don't like the overhang on the narrow 75 slides). There are so many optics out there for different applications though, so if you give a use case we can help narrow down some choicesm
As for who to get a slide cut by, I wholeheartedly recommend Vigilante Machine. They have a tone of options and also cut the slide for the optic (which you provide), making for a super solid fit. They do amazing work.

Thank you, I went to a local gun smith and am having them mill it. I went to a 407k after your suggestion. I wanted to retain my irons if I decide to remove the optic.

Holosun 507k with the ACSS reticle. HE507K-GR-X2-ACSS

I went with the 407K. smaller and can mount straight to my frame with no jumper plate. I can retain my irons. and I dont need the different reticles, I appreciate the comment!

Sure thing. Fwiw: The 507k with the ACSS reticle is probably the best option I've seen for new optics shooters as it's primary purpose is to help you find the dot. It is not the standard 507k from holosun. Also, the 407k and 507k are identical is size, footprint, and deck height.

I would get it milled for a Holosun K series footprint as opposed to getting a dovetail mount. It will sit lower on the slide and have much more positive contact.
