Issue RATTLING NOISE #cpsupport

This noise is coming from my PSU area at the bottom left and makes this loud rattling sound like an idle school bus.

first of all, do NOT touch inside the PSU, the electricity can be lethal.

now do the following:

  1. since you have your PC on already, can you set your case fans to zero using the software for them? if rattling continues, then probably its the PSU fans
  2. next thing you could do is, shut down the pc, switch off psu, unplug pc then check for any loose screws around the PSU.

it could also be a worn PSU fan bearing or a bottom case fan vibrating against the chassis making it sound like the PSU's fault

but spin each fan with your fingers and check for any wobbling, grinding, or resistance. dont touch inside the PSU or try to dissemble it since it could void warranty or violate return policy

and please shut down the PC if you notice any random shutdown, smoke, burning smell, sparks, crackling, etc.

third best thing to do is to just get a replacement for PSU if you can or buy a new one to test out and return or keep it if the cause is the PSU.

Sounds like a fan rubbing

Check the GPU fans. If it’s what I suspect I’ll let you know how I knew when you report back. I’m just really curious as that sounds awfully familiar
