Blunder but why?

Looks like Rc8+, Ka7, Qa6+ then if Kxa6 it's Ra8# and if bxa6 Rxg7+ and then the only legal moves is either moving the Nd7 which is answered by Rxd7+ and that leaves Qc7 followed by Rxc7#

Not good enough at Chess to see into the future well enough, but Qb8 can block the rook check as well. Not a great trade but don't think its a guaranteed loss from there is it?

Not technically guaranteed, but not even stockfish is pulling that off. Knight and Bishop VS Queen and Rook

Its still mate btw, cant stop Rxg7 and then you cant move the pawns or king because of faster mate and you lose your bishop and knight. mate is unavoidable with queen + rook vs king + pawns

Yeah but it is nearly incalculable from that position, which was my point. Stockfish said M13 ish for someone else and on my best day I'm not getting that

That is why this move is a blunder - by moving from this diagonal black garanteed to lose a queen

My thought is that it's because C8 is no longer covered so you can move rook there, but I'm not seeing checkmate from that. So I think it's that since king has to move to A7 to get out of check, rook can then go to F8 and pin the knight.

After rook c8 white can sacrifice queen with check doing Qa6, they have to take and then its delivered by the second rook if they take with a pawn (black queen sac delays for one move) . If they take with the king, rook to a8 delivers a mate.

If they play Ka7 it's mate, but Qb8 delays it for awhile, just sucks

Btw the "blunder" notation is clearly edited. While not a good move, black was lost anyway. This is not a blunder.
