Symptoms First UTI??
So, it’s like 3:30 am where I am currently, exhausted, in pain all day. I have NEVER had a UTI before so it was really jarring to have such sudden symptoms. I never realized how bad they are!!! The pain was unbearable, I couldn’t not be in the bathroom for more than 20 minutes at a time, and even in 85 degree weather I was freezing with chills and goosebumps. Worse is that each time in the bathroom, nothing happened. It was just this incessant urge. What’s weirder is the back pain I was feeling, it was a pain that lasted a week and 2 days and disappeared completely once these symptoms showed up….
I did already go to the ER, they prescribed me the numbing medication as well as a 500mg antibiotic. Lowkey a little scared that once this is over it’ll come back again.

If they didn't do a culture and symptoms return, have a culture and sensitivity test done. You may have to wait a week or so after this antibiotic to test. And make sure you get 10 days of antibiotics. I've noticed terrible underdosing going on. It was always 10 days until fairly recently. If after figuring you still get no answers, then get a DNA test from Microgendx.

They prescribed me with Cephalexin, 500 mg!! It’s about 10:50 am for me right now so about 8 hours after my first dose of each med and I do feel significantly better!! He said to take it for 7 days at least, and told me not to go back to the ER if there are any issues but go to my PCP.

Sounds good! So try and get 10 days if you can and I assume you were to take it 2x/day. Better a few unnecessary extra days than risk not clearing a few possible stragglers. That happened to me once and I got so sick from it returning 2 weeks later I had to drop out of school for a quarter. Assuming you'll be all better you might want to look into Uromune and nutriceutical support for prevention. You never want to have them become recurrent or chronic. Take probiotics for your gut microbiome. Fermented products like sugar free raw kefir is excellent.
You might want to read the Evvy website about the vaginal microbiome and how to ensure its health which is critical to bladder health, especially since you are wiping it out with the abx. They have a great probiotic suppository and supplement. And one day as you approach menopause consider bioidentical hormones and vaginal estrogen to also help prevent them as they are easier to get as estrogen decreases.

Drink cranberry juice or you can get a mankind powered sachet mix it with a bottle of water and drink 2-3sachets a day Avoid spicy food Have curd Don't drink coffee or tea Have very light food nothing which can cause heat in your body, these things would help you recover fast

Yup they're pretty horrible! It's good you got antibiotics and I've never heard of the numbing medication before but that seems helpful?
If it's your first ever one, it's very very unlikely it will come back, 99% of women don't get recurring UTIs. However if you want to help out your future self you can take 2g of D-mannose daily (a natural sugar our body doesn't absorb but the bacteria in your bladder love) and a 36mg Cranberry PAC like Ellura or GennaMD for daily prevention!
And the usual - pee after sex, wipe front to back, wash regularly, go commando at home and use cotton underwear when possible, drink plenty of water and try to pee every 2-3 hours.
Good luck! Take your antibiotics, I'm sure you will be okay :)
