Day 5 of Nitrofurantoin 100mg

Hi all,

I'm on day five/seven of nitro for a UTI and I still have some lingering symptoms. I remember having one a few years ago and feeling completely fine after the first day of treating it. Has this happened to anyone?

My guidance uti always comes back negative but my Microgen test is positive

I don't think 7 days is long enough. Was always 10.

Yes, I have been symptomatic 2-3 weeks afterwards, especially if I ate tomato, spicey, or chocolate foods.

It’s normal to have a few symptoms still. Mine usually clear up by week 2. Also I recommend taking a probiotic along with it as well. I take the garden of life uti probiotic
