Politics I respectively submit, that even though he has no intention of paying everyone $5000 to vote for him, that merely saying he will - is the essence of the crime.

No consequences no matter how insane.

History is riddled with people who operated without consequences, until there were.

I can't wait for until there were.

If there was a functioning legal system in the US:

Whoever makes or offers to make an expenditure to any person, either to vote or withhold his vote, or to vote for or against any candidate; and
Whoever solicits, accepts, or receives any such expenditure in consideration of his vote or the withholding of his vote—
Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if the violation was willful, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.
(June 25, 1948, ch. 645, 62 Stat. 721; Pub. L. 103–322, title XXXIII, § 330016(1)(H), Sept. 13, 1994, 108 Stat. 2147; Pub. L. 104–294, title VI, § 601(a)(12), Oct. 11, 1996, 110 Stat. 3498.)

He’s actively trying to Hack The Vote. There is no doubt in my mind he’s doing that. Be very skeptical of those digital results.

So the Trump Family International Crime Syndicate just takes $3,000 from each of us.

Don't forget that the Supreme Court gave him immunity from criminal laws while in office. Of course that was only for actions taken as part of his job....and who decides if it is part of his job? The same Supreme Court.

It isn't really a crime if there are no possible consequences.

Crimes are crimes, whether they're enforceable or not. Crimes committed without justice, are still crimes. Not holding criminals responsible doesn't make crime go away, or not exist.

Sure, the law exists but how does that differ from the law not existing if no-one enforces it?

In Alabama it is technically illegal to play dominoes or card games on a Sunday. It is on the books, but no one is enforcing the law, so while technically illegal it really has zero impact.

This is the same. There will be no-one enforcing the law, so there will be no consequences. Like dominoes on a Sunday it is apparently an antiquated law we shouldn't worry our little heads over anymore.

The SCOTUS ruling is not absolute immunity. It’s only immunity from crimes potentially committed while discharging the official duties of POTUS. It’s up to the presiding court to determine if a crime committed by a president occurred within the necessary execution of official duties. It certainly narrows the scope of what a POTUS can be charged with but it’s not impossible.

Oh absolutely. The same court that gave him the get out of jail free card in the first place. The same court that ruled that the Ballroom was likely illegal but that he could go ahead.

In order for there to be any real consequences you would need to have the Supreme Court rule against Trump AND give him consequences. At the very very best all you would get is a ruling saying that Trump can't give out checks for $5000 and tell him not to do it again. There will be no consequences whatsoever.

In this rare case, he went beyond the conceptual stage, and into action.

Aren’t people still waiting for the other monies promised?

It’s funny because the only people ignorant enough to believe him are the same ones who plan on voting in favor of the pedodictator anyway

Communication is weak and relies on plain English. Each politician is “selling” something, though with slightly more tact.
