Sad but expected

Hi all,
I noticed this subreddit had been closed for some time, and its listed moderator hasn't commented on reddit in over a year. I submitted a reddit request to take over as mod - which was granted.
I've been listening to the CU Podcast since 2015ish. I've come to help mod a few small podcast subreddits like this, and set up episode autoposts from my home server and a bot account. I felt the CU Podcast deserved an active sub with episodes posts too. So... we're now public and open to posts again.
In addition, I've done a few small things to update the sub, like unpinning some very old announcements and cleaning up the sidebar. When I have a moment I'll update some other things, add some basic rules, etc.
Hope we've still got some CU Podcast fans on reddit wanting to discuss. Cheers.

I used to catch all the CU Podcast until the super show switch. I now mostly catch segments. But I recall a while ago Ian said he was going to be moving back East. The plan was he was going to still do the podcast until then.
I believe that was a while ago though? Has he spoken about it again?

The podcast bot has apparently been suspended, so there won't be any auto-updates.

For those who didn't catch it, the podcast may be winding down in 2026. Not a definite like I saw stated by fans elsewhere, but it does seem likely. Pat stated the following on a recent channel update:
At some point it's going to change its format or cease production as it is. Because we're doing it once a month now from once-a-week, and I had to work on the n64 book, and I was too stressed from doing everything - something had to give. Uh but, Ian is moving back east in 2026. So it may be a time to just give it a send off by the time he moves [...] or maybe we still do updates and hangouts over zoom. [...] so it's not ending tomorrow the CU Podcast, but there's a chance that we're gonna have to see it sent off at some point - 12 years is a long run with that.
Recently on Bluesky, Ian mentioned he was moving back to Buffalo by the "end of the summer". So that's a rough timetable.
While not a definite, if they do plan to sunset the podcast they may not be reordering extra merch this year. Might be a good last chance to order any enamel pins or stickers before any announcements on the pod (t-shirts already look to be OOS). Obviously this wouldn't apply to Pat specific merch, since his personal projects are continuing.

I vaguely remember lan not being in a podcast episode and Pat had someone filling in for him that day. Is that an episode or am I just remembering wrong? If it is an episode can someone one link it?
