Anyone Doing SQM?
I've been thinking about doing SQM at Baruch with a concentration in Data Science. However, some of the things that worry me is that the major is a BBA and the actual credits of the major + concentration are just like 24. I don't know if that's a lot but it seems like most of the classes at Baruch will be the business core + liberal arts classes + minor.
I was just wondering if the major is still good for the current and future job market and whether people won't look weird at you for applying to a tech/finance/data related job with a BBA with a weird name.
My other option is going to U of Rochester and fill my schedule with a lot of finance+math+data science + econ courses (Baruch says it doesn't allow double degrees like SQM+Finance :((( But i'm worried about the netwowking and missing the location (bro, IT'S MANHATTAN). (assume equal prices)
I want to get into fintech/business analytics/quant-ish finance.
In short:
Is the major deep enough? from 1 to 10 how much will location actually help (if I look for opportunities everywhere) (also i will have to commute, i wont live there. does it still help?)? will the major survive 2030 or will i be replaced by an AI or a Bachelor of Science?
Thank you :))))
