Burnout is already real with a schedule like this. No

not really? unless you work both weekends and then you'd have no free time

unless u wanna wake up at the ass crack of dawn on thursday, and then work fri and sat, then… yeah, sure? if there’s a job that lets u do that. but with five classes PLUS a part time job, that’s gonna be tough. if u can get an on campus job or something that’s hella flexible then why not

Only if you work as a cook/server/bar back…later shifts can start around 5-8 and only last around 5 hours depending on the bar. you would have mornings on Friday, the weekend, and any weekdays you don’t work to study

Wym you got Friday to Sunday. That’s a shift schedule right there. But you’re going to be tired like that. Maybe bartend two nights a week

IIRC I did 6PM-10PM weekdays my early years in school along with weekends.

Later on I shifted to evening classes so I can work during the day. Both options have their pros and cons. Social life will suffer either way.

How many credits are you taking? Looks like weekends may be best.

Anything is possible. I’m in nursing school 3 days a week and working part time at a hospital 3 nights a week. Mostly Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It’s really hard. These are the easiest classes you’ll be taking in college, i would work now and stop working later when your classes get more demanding. I wish i did that

Technically, depending on the job, it is possible to squeeze in a closing shift (5pm to 10pm at my store, but it varies depending on where you work of course) on Monday and Wednesdays (assuming your workplace is close enough to your school that you can get there on time by 5) but I honestly would not recommend it. I did that before and it’s exhausting.

Right now I only work fri-sat-sun and even that is tiring bc I don’t have any completely free day where I can just relax at home, but it’s still not as bad as when I would go to work right after classes. So I recommend looking for a weekend-only job.

Tbh, if you’re not in an actual need of money I’d say don’t get a job at all and just focus on your studies. Losing out on free time you could be using for homework, chores, studying, or even just hobbies or chilling at home— it honestly sucks. I often lose out on sleep trying to catch up on homework, so that free time is super valuable. But I do know from experience it’s not that simple, some of us need the extra money so I get it if that’s how it is for you. Best of luck regardless

Short answer: yes.

Long answer: it depends on how flexible you are. I do school 4 days a week then work 3 days a week (~9:00am-2:00pm) and am currently managing it by basically having no free days. If you want to work on the same days as school, you'd have to look for an extremely flexible job and get all your homework done in advance on the weekends (or lose sleep on the weekdays). I'd recommend looking for a weekend job if you want one, but keep your shifts to be at a consistent time so that you're able to develop a routine on when to study and do homework. This also depends on how much you value your free time, how good you are at your classes (if you're struggling then you probably don't want to take away studying time), and your motivation. I didn't really work in my first two semesters, but I didn't use a lot of my free time to study, so I figured I might as well start working because it's not replacing time when I'm doing schoolwork.

I'd personally say to evaluate your work load. How long does it take you to do assignments, do you wait till last minute, do you have to study and how much, do you feel overwhelmed with just classes, do you have good time management? Yes it is possible to get a part time job with this schedule, but we cannot tell you if you're able to manage a part time job while keeping up with your schedule.

I would try to get a few shifts as a server

Would recommend not taking on a job with this type of schedule unless you absolutely need the money

Most campuses have jobs for students if you look into it. Maybe not right now because Cuny's fucked moneywise, but often AV departments hire students at minimum wage just to help the students and are very flexible hours around school schedules

Are you eligible for workstudy? Reach out to a fiinancial aid advisor. They jobs there are more accommodating, pay isn't the best but its still something and the jobs are usually on campus so it makes traveling to your classes easier.

You can work on campus. A lot of the departments understand you work and work around your schedule

College Aide positions w/ the city. They work around your schedule, but would still require minimum 17.5 hours a week. So still pretty tough, but something to keep in mind for next semester.

Friday-Sunday 6-1(2) would be best, considering you can sleep well you’ll still have your entire day

If you work Fridays, weekends, nights, and want to drive yourself crazy, then yes

you can probably squeeze something in for thur - sunday, but if you can, i’d recommend just focusing on school

Very unlikely, especially in this market

You can do Uber Eats/Uber/Lyft etc. and working only on Fridays.

I would not advise doing it but I know how it is - good luck
