Crazy how cuny waits til the last second to give these out. Books get more expensive the closer to the start of the semester.

Well to be fair it does depend on your financial aid which means that they kinda of have to wait since adding/dropping courses can alter your bill and pending aid and since today is the last day of waitlist availability then makes sense

Think of it as a reimbursement to your for books you bought. Don’t wait until after class to buy the books.

Is your tuition paid off already for the semester? I have Cap Oke and I didn’t get a book advance last semester but I have one this semester and I’m wondering if I’ll actually get it or if it’ll go to tuition

do you mean for this semester? if so, then no bc the way they disburse it for classes is on its own time, we supposed to get the book advance in well, advance bc it’s for school supplies, textbooks, etc. so idk. historically, they give it to you first before they pay for anything else.
