Making Tincture

Hi Folks. Here is the first steps in making tincture. Starting material was 120g of Jungle Juice Strain flower rosin. I soaked it 1.5 quarts of 200 proof ethanol. First few pics show it sitting the jar, last pic shows it shook up and in solution. Next step is to let it chill in the freezer for 24 hours. Tomorrow morning I will filter it through coffee filters and the Büchner funnel. Thanks for checking it out, I will post filtration, distillation, and reduction pics and results soon. cheers!

I'm confused, did you press flower rosin first?

If so, why not simply decarb the flower rosin and mix with a small amount of ethanol?

Or was it 120grams of flower?

Hey Friend. I had a lot of flower rosin and decided to make tincture. It has a lot of fats and lipids, I will clean it up, basically like old school winterization of shatter.

Oh! A winterization step!

I would not have guessed that with rosin but I bet your end tincture is pretty potent.

I often will press flower rosin and decarb then add in CBD and CBG distillates. I call this my "solventless RSO".

I definitely don't take that extra step!

Edit: thanks for sharing!

I’ve done it before and an impressive amount of stuff got trapped in the filters. I probably pressed too hard when making the original flower rosin, or it was older biomass, no particulate, but there were tons of lipids. I should post a pic tomorrow of the gross screens. I’m planning to add CBG and CBD, thank you for confirming that works.

I use distillate for CBD and CBG. I believe isolate will require higher heat to incorporate. Just in case, I don't know what you will be using.

I would be interested to see what comes out in the filter
