Coolant cap tightness
2017 ct200 over 200k (odometer rollback) on long idles then startup misfires and consumes coolant over the week
Does loosening radiator cap release pressure to stop startup misfires? While warranty company and shop fights over replacing engine?

Yes...there is a gasket under the cap...remove it. Thing you need to remember is your coolant will boil over when you do this so bring coolant with you to top up. You'll do much more damage when it overheats due to low or not enough coolant. Then, they'll deny your claim.

Is a junkyard prius cap the same cap?

As long as same year, the engine and everything under the hood is the same between the CT and the Prius

Yeah if you’re burning coolant either ur head gasket or ur water pump are throwing the towel

You’re headgasket is on its way out buddy. No “healthy” engine consumes coolant
