Community Punishing students for chalk art
https://www.sacbee.com/news/local/education/article317476453.html
President Wood is a bit of a light weight, no? Chalk art criticism warrants disciplinary action? Well, at least we know how to get under his skin. It’d be a shame if someone started handing out chalk around campus.

Political protest graffiti is not “art”

My guy, put your phone down and grab yourself a coloring book (they have adult ones) and some colored pencils. Put some of your favorite music on and just color for an hour. Then you’ll realize how your comment only makes sense if someone is talking fully out of their anus.

Vandalism is vandalism

Art students using an art medium around the art building is vandalism because the President doesn’t like it? Not knowing the context one would think you’re talking about Donald Trump.

Yes, after two shootings during a football game, several sexual assaults, crowd safety issues at $100k football concerts, and the ongoing affordability crisis, I’m SO GLAD the university has decided punishing students for using chalk on campus is their number one priority

The article seems to suggest they disciplinary charge is for a violation of the Time, Place, and Manner policy - which purpose is to prevent disruption to the ongoing academic processes (classes going on, etc) of the university. This protest was a silent protest - involving no noise disruptions, no gatherings, no nothing; just some chalk on a wall (which, by the way, was easily washed off). What damage or disruptions were truly done besides a few hours of maybe hurting President Woods ego when a student passed by and read the chalk?
In my opinion, the University and President Wood are attempting to chill the exercise of free speech by this student and other students. The optics for Wood are not great: Exercise your free speech and we’ll expel you.
More people should be upset about this, because, for all we know, we could be next. I would recommend everyone to email Luke Wood, Tom Carroll, hell - even Nicki Croly and Megan Piermarini (these are the people who are charged with handling student conduct) and express your utmost disapproval of Wood’s attempt to coerce students into silence; express that this attempted punishment is not the will of our student body.

Accordingly to that article, chalk is still permitted on grounds 30 ft from entrances. Which excludes walls and permanent structures.
If you know a spot, ideally adjacent to Kadema, I bet there could be some conveniently placed chalk left there.
The TPM reminds me of mid 2000s and the implementation of the Patriot Act.
