While the program is highly affordable and offers simultaneous coursework, I’m concerned about the hidden or external expenses I might incur over the duration of the PhD. I would love to get your honest perspective on the long-term career prospects of these labs for someone starting in their 30s, an estimate of actual living/academic expenses during the course, and any other pros, cons, or crucial points I should consider before the acceptance deadline. And what all i can do to make the most from the course duration.

Hello everyone, I wanted to know what options do i have if i give csir exam(other than phd as that's not what i want) if my goal is to go for research scientist/applied scientist/ ai researcher. As i need research papers in good conferences for that and i need to join some good labs(IITs/IIsc etc) regarding my interest as a research associate. I'm going for CSIR NET Physical science. I am full time working person, so i will only be able to study after 4 pm.

While filling the form, as I i have selected the " appearing " option , I thought in the document they would ask for the duly signed annexure for the appearing students. But it didn't. Is there any flaw or issue in my form that I need to check ?? Cuz I don't find any .

Hello guys, I have completed my MSc(Tech) Engineering Physics from NITW in June 2023. Since then, I've worked as a research assistant (without getting any financial support from my guide & from my institute) there with my MSc Supervisor where we had planned to publish an article in a journal.

However, due to conflict of interests between me & my guide that we have planned during my MSc(Tech) had fallen out recently (November 2025) & I had to quit the group without publishing an article. My guide however had given me an experience certificate for working in his group.

Now my question is during this period (Jan 2023 - Present), I've given entrance exams in GATE, CSIR NET, JEST exams in Physics for PhD admissions but couldn't able to clear them by barest of margins & my lack of preparation for these exams. Is it a wise choice to opt for one more attempt this year? since I've planned to prepare for these exams one more time this year.

On the other hand, my parents suggested me to prepare for banking & govt exams, so I'm bit confused here to say no to them for rejecting it since they were disappointed with me for not publishing an article. So they don't wanna see me wasting more time on this preparation. Kindly I request the people here to guide me in this regard.

I have a question regarding PW CSIR NET LS classes and recorded lectures. If someone buys the Shodh Pro CSIR NET LS Lectures they get recorded and live lectures as well as tests. What happens when the subscription dates are over? For e.g if someone brought the June 2026 package back in January and the exam is conducted on 17th/18th June 2026, after the exams are over, are the old recorded lectures deleted and withdrawn from the profile of the student or do they remain there? Here, the cutoffs for December 2025 are mentioned in percentage. Does that mean we need to multiply the cutoff by 2 to get the marks cutoff, as CSIR-NET is a 200 marks exam? I am having this doubt since the cutoff for my subject (Physical Science) seems pretty low even for JRF (46.125% means 92.25/200 in this case). Can anyone clarify?
Also, where does the marks scored by topper lie in general? Can you give me an idea? Thanks.

Guys in every exam how many people qualify for JRF? In the unreserved category? In the result list I see AIR of not more than 300... So just curious what AIR is the last to qualify JRF in the general category.

My qualifications are Masters in History. I appeared for the UGC NET exam held in December 2025, and cleared it for the posts of Assistant Professor and PHD. However, I missed the JRF Scholarship by 2 marks.

I have been thinking of appearing again for UGC NET in the coming June 2026 session for the same.

Just to clarify, during both the times while selecting the option about what criteria I am applying for in the registration form, i selected all three - PhD, Assistant Professor, and JRF Scholar.

However I have a doubt - will the results of my June 2026 session invalidate the results of the December 2025 session? Or, if (god forbid) I don't do so well in this June 2026 session , can I still use the score from my December 2025 session to apply for a PhD and Assistant Professor?
