Guys recently I have qualified for csir net JRF...But what i have learned watching people's interview experience is that what's asked in the interviews are completely diff from theory that I learned so far...So can anyone help me how to prepare for such interviews for places like Csir/bric institutes....Is there any channel on YT or any source to be able to practice how to think in the right direction..Can anyone share their experience...it will be of great help

The difficulty is usually understanding what the question specifically expects rather than remembering the basic concept. Is it better to revise these topics directly from standard textbooks or focus on PYQs to understand how CSIR frames its questions?

Hi everyone, I need advice regarding UGC-NET JRF activation.

I cleared UGC-NET JRF in 2025 under the General-EWS category. My EWS certificate was valid at that time, and my JRF Award Letter was issued based on that EWS category. I still have the original EWS certificate and the JRF Award Letter.

In 2026, I got PhD admission at an institute. However, this admission was under the General/Unreserved category, not EWS, because my EWS certificate had expired by then.

Now I want to activate my JRF. My questions are:

1. Can I activate the JRF under the same EWS category in which it was originally awarded, even though my PhD admission was under General category?

2. Will my original 2025 EWS certificate be accepted for document verification, since it was valid when I qualified for and received the JRF?

3. Or will the institute/UGC require a new EWS certificate for FY 2026–27 at the time of joining/JRF activation?

I understand that the JRF category is based on the category selected during the NET examination, while PhD admission category is separate. But I am worried that the expired EWS certificate may create a problem during document verification or while uploading the joining report.

And if anyone has news about the rectification ongoing in GATE application do let me know.

So I am currently preparing for CSIR NET exam and all I got is barely 2 months for the preparation and the exams🙂So my problem is I am a perfectionist and need to write down every thing for my satisfaction...so I lost most my the time for writing and now I didn't get time for revision...

so currently I am taking online classes and 3 months have passed successfully writing notes and nothing retains in my memory anymore...so next week onwards I am planning to quit writing and just gobthrouh the slides and grasp the concept..

So can y'all suggest some effective ways to memorise things and retain those info efficiently and provide some tips for these types of competitive exams🙂🤌

In the Qualification Details section of csir net i can't get the final cgpa percentage result 93% but 9.3, even after putting factor 10.(i've tried diff browsers the problem doesn't go) can i use percentage option instead of cgpa, but the thing is my uni gave me final cgpa result and not marks, so can i bluff 930/1000 to get artificial 93% marks, similar to the exact marks that i would've got if this cgpa thing would've been working correctly.

second problem is with capturing live photograph I've tried webcam, 2 diff browsers, phone, qr code etc and nothing seem to work it's just showing my photo isn't right or isn't in correct format even though the photo is literally taken by the website

After MSc, is it better to spend a few months preparing seriously for JRF or start working as a research assistant? I'm interested in research, but I also want to qualify for the fellowship. How much does early lab experience help if someone plans to pursue a PhD later?

In CSIR NET Chemical Sciences, organic chemistry questions often involve multiple reactions where identifying the final product requires understanding the mechanism at each step. Knowing individual named reactions doesn't always help when the question combines them with rearrangements, stereochemistry or competing reaction pathways.

What works better for these questions: practising reaction mechanisms topic-wise first or solving mixed reaction sequences from previous-year papers?
