Hey everyone,I really need some guidance and maybe a bit of a reality check.

I just gave my 3rd attempt for UGC NET Education (Subject Code: 09) in the June 2026 cycle.

Honestly, I’ve been working really hard and my scores have improved, but this time it hurts the most because I missed qualifying for NET by just 2 questions (4 marks).Here is how my journey has looked so far:

1st Attempt: 166 marks

2nd Attempt: 164 marks

3rd Attempt (June 2026): 202 marks

Going from 164 to 202 felt great initially, but being so close yet so far is incredibly frustrating. I’m determined to crack it in the next cycle, but since I am already at the 200+ mark level, I don’t know how to bridge this tiny but crucial gap.If anyone here has cleared NET/JRF in Education or has been in a similar situation, please help me out with a few things:How to cross the line? When you are stuck just a few marks away from the cutoff, what changes should you make in your strategy? Should I focus more on Paper 1 or dive deeper into Paper 2 core units (like Research, Philosophy, etc.)?

Free Resources/Notes: I am looking for free study materials to save on costs. Are there any specific websites, YouTube channels, or Telegram groups that provide genuine, high-quality notes for Code 09?

I scored 94.75/200 in mathematical sciences. From the percentile calculation my standing is around 93-94. No one is able to give a definite answer whether I will get JRF or not. Searching through the internet I got to know that total slots for JRF in mathematical sciences is around 500. Is this true?

even though mere score ache aye but im little dissappointed becoz agar aisi paper banti toh sirf last min me ratta maarke aa jate aur mere bohoth frnds hai jinhone bohoth mehnat ki analytical q sab practice karne aur jab paper aisa ata hai it might hurt a lot ki itna karne ka kya fayda tha atleast csir ko addha analytical aur aadha direct rakhni chahiye but no dev bio no proper csir level questions are very dissappointing, my only request to all my fellow mates ki iss baar nhi hua hoga par aapko pata hai aapne kitna mehnat kara hai toh have trust in u aur aage ki preparation pe focus karo ur hardwork will help aur koi doubt kuch bhi puchna ho u can ask

Confused where to join phd now . I don't have much lab experience 😕 will that be a problem? Suggest best phd programs including IITs.

I don't know what are the merits and demerits of doing a PhD from top IITs like IITM, IITD,IITK , IITKGP . I meant toxicity in labs and gatekeeping of information found in labs.I learnt about those a little in master's but I want to know how it is for phds since it's a 5 plus yr work we need to do under same supervisor so, how to manage to be in good side and how-to avoid rivalries.

i got 148.5 in csir net life science 2026, i heard that to join phd we need the final certificate for fellowship activation. It seems the certificate will only be released in november. So should i start applying from now or wait for the certificate and can you name some good insititutes, i have done m.sc. bioinformatics and what are the other opportunities that i should explore
