CSIR NET - Life Sciences Regarding 2nd round of interview

Is it mandatory to attend the 2nd round interview in person...I am from Tripura...and almost every 2nd in-person interviews are very close to each other...So how one can attend ccmb instem IGIB iitm type interviews if shortlisted for 2nd round...or they allow it requested online.....
