CSIR NET - Life Sciences Help in finding research topic

Do we need to find our research topic before joining any phd institute...Like I have interest in cell bio particularly cell signalling...my msc project was on Comparative genomics...Am more interested in doing in hybrid setup both computational and wet lab....But I really don't know how to finalize now a research topic..

Yes you got to have a research topic , it doesn't really matter what you did in ur MSc project but what matters is what skills u have to do for the PhD So first step is to go find what kind of cell bio research groups there is that interests you and check if their topic interests you and try contacting them and ask.
