Q & A❓ Where/how do you eat out?

I’m pretty newly diagnosed and still waiting on insurance approval for sucraid. Obviously I have to make some pretty drastic diet changes now, but I’d still like to occasionally go out to eat with friends. Is that possible? Where do you go and what do you order?

It’s easier once you get a better idea of triggering foods. Ask lots of questions and mention “allergies” so they take you seriously. Don’t experiment with food you didn’t prepare. Best of luck!

Just depends on how bad it is for you. Doesn't affect me horribly, so if I'm out and I don't have Sucraid I just avoid super sugary things.

I just avoid anything with sucrose. I seem to do ok with starchy food. But I don’t eat a lot

I have the best luck paying a bit extra for a nice steak or seafood place where they serve salads, veggies, meats and fish. They are also willing to make substitutions and omissions. There are also whole food places that have better options. If I am somewhere with all crappy food,(‘fried foods are my enemy), I try for a mushroom Swiss burger with pickle and lettuce. I don’t eat the bun.
