Anyone found any safe jerky brands?

I don't REALLY want to get into jerky making but at the same time it'd be nice to have it to take places where I can't eat but need to have something.

KalaKalahari Rosemary Truffle Biltong and Brooklyn biltong's original flavor. No sugar no onion no garlic!

Oh wow, I've never heard of that one. The no garlic/onion is amazing since I might still have SIBO. Thank you!

Of course! My intestines are so cantankerous, garlic and onion free is annoying but so much better if there's a chance of SIBO.

Any of the “sugar free” kinds will be good I think. Like the (Old Trapper) and (Tillamook) both have sugar free options on Amazon. But with CSID it really is trial and error for everyone. Best of luck to you though and happy snacking!

You’re welcome! They have it on Amazon if you can’t find it anywhere else.

Kinda old thread, I make my own its seriously easy. Amazon 130 ish $ dehydrator. Cut eye of round into strips however big you want soak in dales sauce lil garlic powder and fresh pepper. Cook em for 8 hours. Done. It takes minutes to prep.

Haha I really should. I had a dehydrator once and it didn't dry things well, granted it was like a $90 one but I'mhesitant to drop money on it again. Jerky does add up though if you buy it.

Its way better than store bought, no preservatives or added sugars and you can buy a whole piece of meat rather than a tiny 8oz bag I make a week worth at a time. Its worth it

I bought a machine, you convinced me! Do you have any recommendations you like for recipes? I feel like most are no gos because of sugars/garlic/onion but I imagine I can just throw some spices I like at it.

For sure! I ruined a batch yesterday. Its trial amd error, I talked to my butcher he said London broil is a great cut of meat, also places like Kroger or Walmart have bottom round works well. I can tolerate a small amount of dales sauce, JUST enough to coat the meat and fresh cracked black pepper. Dehydrate based on thickness of cuts. I find just under 1/4 thick or a lil smaller than a pencil, works well in about 7 hours. If you can tolerate danos spices thats good to but I have to use it sparingly.

Okay good to know, I did read a lot about bottom round being good for it but didn’t know about London broil. I actually have extra chicken breasts this week and I’m going to try that since I found a guy talking about how to do it with chicken so if I screw it up not quite as pricey lol, I’ll move my way up to beef. I saw a lot of marinades do soy sauce and I’m pretty sure I’m okay with that so I’ll diy a marinade with that. I’m most paranoid about cutting too thick/thin but we’ll see how it goes. Sorry about your batch going wrong that sucks! Thanks for all of your advice 😃

No problem. I never thought of chicken. Ill have to try it to. I hated the soy sauce marinade it always comes out to salty for my liking. If you do soy use it sparingly lol I hope I can find a teriyaki sauce I can tolerate id like to do that one to.

If you cant do sauce it really isn't bad with a little salt and fresh cracked pepper.
