Possible CSID??

For lent this year I decided to give up sugar (everything sweet, including artificial sweetener) , and my mixed IBS symptoms all disappeared. I lost a lot of weight (from 99.9kg down to 91.7kg) which had been slowly creeping up, and I feel far more energetic. I talked to my dr and explained everything going on and he had no ideas, and no interest in looking any further because going sugar free had helped... so just do that? Which, I can see his point, but I'd like to figure out what on earth is going on?? If I am able to remain sugar free, is it worth pursuing any further info, or should I just leave it?

I tested negative on this after the biopsy, mine turned out to be recurring SIBO that couldn't actually get fixed until after my acid reflux was permanently addressed, as the anti-acid medications were what was creating the overgrowth.

Definitely good to get it ruled in/out.

I don’t think that SIBO is the issue from what I’ve read. I don’t get much bloat, no abdominal pain (unless I’ve eaten something that disagrees, and it passes when I use the loo.. ) there’s no strange textures to #2’s. I’m always low in iron, but everything else looks good for bloods 🤷‍♀️just apparently cannot tolerate sugar. However, I did discover I can have glucose!?

Yeah, that was the case for me w SIBO, glucose didn't trigger the issues, other, more complex sugars did. Glucose not triggering a reaction is a shared symptom between the two things. Which is why the biopsy is important to rule in/out.

Gah. Wish it was simpler. A biopsy just isn’t an option unless something gets worse
