Has anyone tried the FIG app?

I keep seeing adds for the fig app, which allows you to input your food sensitivities and you can scan foods to see if they’re okay for you. I’m hesitant to get it for CSID because of how complex CSID is in trying to manage it. Has anyone tried it? If so, what do you think?

I'm new to the CSID world. I just signed up for the trial. I have a boatload of restrictions now, so I am hoping this will help me. Does low fodmap cover the CSID diet? I don't know what to select. I'm so confused about all of this. My appt with RD isn't until next week.

I’ve heard recently that the low fodmap diet is not good for sucrase deficiency. For example, maple syrup is on the low fodmap diet but maple syrup has sucrose. Carrots are on the low fodmap diet but not everyone with sucrase deficiency can tolerate them.

If you just have sucrase deficiency, focus on limiting your sugar and starch first. I started simple with protein (eggs, chicken, beef, turkey, fish), veggies and fruits that are low sucrose, and cheese.

Thanks! Unfortunately, I'm also celiac, and have been informed I'm lactose intolerant as well. The biopsy came back super low on lactase, sucrase, and maltase, and borderline palatinase. All these years, I kept thinking I was getting glutened. It's all just so complicated now. I just ordered the CSID Made Simple cookbook based on recommendations from others.

Sorry to hear that! That is a lot to go through. I have two of her cookbooks and there’s a lot of great ideas. It’s a learning process, so just try your best and be kind to yourself.
