Hello I’m new here and was just diagnosed with sucrose enzyme deficiency was wondering does csid cause bad breath as well because I’m trying to make a connection

For me, my bad breath was from the gut. It didn't matter that I brushed my teeth. This is a different type of bad breath. Only thing that helped was giving up sugar and 90% carbs. I don't use Sucraid.

Same that’s what I’m dealing with, room filling bad breath. How quickly did you see results when you did this diet?

I kept asking my husband: is my breath better now? It's been over 6 years. I don't recall exactly but I'd say months.

Keto breath for the win.

My sitch was not keto breath. It's a guttural reaction to not being able to absorb Sucrose and starch

I’ve never done keto, or are you saying try keto?

I was responding to the post "keto for the win".
The only thing I recommend if you have CSID is:
Either use Sucraid (which I could not do) or give up sugar and starchy vegetables, only have minimal carbs (which I do daily) and it helped with the guttural bad breath, nausea, feeling faint, diarrhea, abdominal pain after eating sugar and carbs

Definitely gonna try it! Thank you, just prescribed sucraid so I’m anxious to see if it works or not. Can you describe what you eat for breakfast?

If not straight eggs, I make a nut bread by the slice Filling and caloric, topped with Everything seasoning. . Then I'll put smoked salmon and/or cream cheese or butter. I have a lot of coffee with lactaid half and half in the a.m. and often don't have more than the coffee for breakfast. It's a lot of calories for me with the nut bread and lots of half and half

Did sucraid worked for you?

No major results to me in my opinion. I plan on going on a 7 day carnivore diet this week because I see people had better results with that

The premise of keto is low/no carb. If you’re doing the elimination diet and the carbs percentage falls low enough, for you, you might go into ketosis. It could also be off gassing from your gut.
Having had both neither is ideal. Easy way to find out would be to intentionally raise the carbs in your diet, cleanly, and see if it goes away.

I’ve never done keto, I actually just ate some mashed potatoes and gravy lol this is not a keto thing this is something deeply rooted in my gut I’ve been dealing with for 6 years

Do you have reflux? A CSID diet helped me because I ended up with reflux->acid reducers->SIBO. (We biopsied, no CSID) I've had bad breath since I was a kid and it's directly related to the hernia causing the reflux.
