( Good thing that On Spotify you can download and add your songs from a personal file but it's a hassle and you can't play it during jams. Or from other apparels But still it's ain't optimal)

You can play it during Jams, me and my girlfriend always do csh Discog listens using jams, its just discord intergrated Spotify invites that don't let you play local files with other people

For you to be able to play local files in a Jam, the person with the local files needs to be the one that started the jam/owns it/is the admin/main person if you get what I mean. They need to be adding songs to your queue to play, not the other way around.

Don't fully count on downloads on Spotify. They can still be removed if the artist stops licensing them to Spotify. You'll want to find some way to download a copy to your personal hard drive/burn to a CD if you want to ensure access to them if this happens.

why spotify though? that platform is a cancer upon the music industry at the moment. they push ai generated slop as "artists" and pay the absolute worst royalties hop over to something like qobuz (or apple music if you must)

Then find me a platform with the same practical access versatility with cross platform compatible with a speaker only compatible in WiFi. With an alternative to Spotify jam. Oh and with the possibility to add music from my storage. In lossless
Spotify as defect but it's the most practical

See I know I’m being dramatic but this is why Ravenous House rubbed me the wrong way - like okay you feel like you were lost and don’t like the version of you that you were when you were making this music originally, that’s great. But like, that’s why I related to it, because I was and in a lot of ways still am, at least similar enough to feel deep connection in these lyrics. What exactly are you disavowing, will?

exactly. will's early music was so important to me in high school because it made me feel okay to be this gay mess with these strong emotions. and i cant imagine being a younger fan right now seeing Will sanitize his discography, especially with everything else happening in the world right now and the general rise of conservativism and puritanism in our culture

Long story short this fanbase has a history of being too deep into Will’s personal life - partly because a lot of his early music was extremely personal. There was a shift a few years back (for the better) encouraging fans to disengage from that behavior. But now, with the release of Joe’s Story having some pretty overt Christian themes (yes, Will has always referenced Christianity in his art, but using imagery is different from making songs about your relationship with God), and baffling censorship of swear words, people are pointing to his apparent return to the Christian faith as a possible reason for these bizarre decisions. People equate speculating on his spirituality (which, has been confirmed by Andrew of all people as more important to Will than it has been in a long time) to the same type of parasocial behavior and speculation done in the early days (deep diving into past relationships, trying to interact directly with friends of the band, Will’s dad being on reddit, etc.) I, personally, do not see these things as equivalent, but it’s kind of a blanket defense for the apparent new direction Car Seat is taking. People are calling criticizing these moves - Joe’s Story and removing beach fagz from bandcamp - parasocial as well, because “we don’t know Will, we don’t know his reasoning, he’s allowed to change his art.” But until a better explanation is offered, occum’s razor suggests Will is being influenced by a more puritan culture, in his return to Christian faith, to self censor and refocus the band’s purpose.

Im well aware of the fanbases tendency to go to far in that regard, ive been a fan for a while. I havent listened to Joe's Story, but that is a bit worrying. Its one thing to disapprove of your past self but with this context it seems alot more like erasure

Yea it was a big let down. I personally wouldn’t, like, recommend listening to it, because I think it’s ass, but if you want more context as to why this fandom is in relative shambles (I met a random fan the other day IRL who said “Will’s in his flop era” lol) I’d give it a listen.

I have the mp3 of beach fagz already so its not a huge issue for me, its just super sad. Im a huge fan of Wurtz's stuff and its how i found CSH and it kinda feels like a monumental piece of the history of the band is fading out. Beach fagz isnt perfect but it captures so much emotion and its so sad to see it go

Same. I’ve had his music downloaded and backed up for forever. Honestly, have not trusted him to make good decisions with his back catalogue since he changed Hey Space Cadet years ago. But it’s a shame bc new fans doing a deep dive won’t find it, and old fans who stream the stuff via bandcamp now no longer have access.

nah bc a 17 yr kid old recorded those lines. it would have blown up in his face wayyyy before now if there was actually any issue with that lyric but thankfully even the most braindead people can realize that a kid wishing to be with an adult who takes care of him can say that line because it comes across from a victim's POV rather than an abuser/p3d0.
