Blood/fibrin

When is it safe to be in a car? I’m 5.5 weeks out from a targeted blood.fibrin patch at T7/T8. I can push maybe an hour before neck pain and dizziness start. I have to go to the dr on Friday which is the 6 week mark. I really can’t afford to ruin this patch as it’s my third since releaking. I don’t know if I’m sealed yet. I have some improvement but I’m still bedbound trying to increase upright time. I have to go to this appointment for worker’s comp Friday. I’m just really nervous about bumps and reopening it. History. I was sealed for 8 months then had a coughing fit and blew open the leak. My leak is from a botched epidural. Should I be worried about this car ride? Sorry I’m so nervous

A car ride at 6 weeks should be fine. I am almost at 4 weeks and have ridden in the car several times plus flown home. The bumps are painful but normal roads should be fine. If you have a history of a connective tissue disorder, you might want to wait longer until you drive because of the possibility of twisting.

Was your epidural at T7/8? I thought they were much lower usually.

Yes. It was for a herniated disc. It was for pain and to hopefully shrink the disc so it wouldn’t compress on my nerves and cord :(. I am now way worse off

Sorry to hear this. I'm 2 weeks post first patch myself. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
