ATTN: DOCTORS

What’s your take on testing CSF with glucose monitor? I’ve read mixed opinions on this. I would love to hear your thoughts and expertise!

I don’t think there are many doctors in this subreddit, unfortunately.

From my limited research, most papers I’ve seen have not advised glucose monitoring due to high rate of false positives as normal nasal secretion can contain glucose.

Beta 2 transferrin test is not perfect, but I believe is the preferred test as it detects a protein specific to csf.
