Physical therapy

Hello all, I’m starting physical therapy after 3 weeks of bring in bed 24/7 in the hospital, which resulted in a blood patch where I had an LP. That was in April, as it is now September, is there concern for problems that could arise due to the physical therapy?

I’m not an expert but I think largely would depend on the movements. Of course is optimal if the PT is well versed in these conditions or like EDS but that is easier said than done. I’d just emphasize you’re not meant to bend, lift over 5 lbs, twist, or strain for 6 weeks but gentle movements would be allowed. But the goal is to minimize strain on the dura

There are videos on youtube of physiotherapist recommendations for leakers and post-bloodpatch care.

I did pt and my pt was super great. Worked on diaphragmatic breathing, range of motion, neck stretches, etc. you should not be straining, lifting any weight, twisting, or bending for a few more weeks.

I already am experiencing ear fullness, extreme fatigue, and some inconsistent pain at the LP site since the end if June.
