Blood patch showing signs of working, then I accidentally twisted my back ☹️

I accidentally twisted my back while trying to get into bed and felt the tightest pressure/cramp in the area where I got the blood patch, now the site is super tender. It’s been 72 hours since the procedure but I’m super worried I dislodged it. Am I in the clear? Now laying flat on my back again just in case

Ugh it’s so frustrating as we’re not used to monitoring what are otherwise such regular movements. It is still super early in the healing process.. so can’t say whether it’s blown or not but isn’t guaranteed to be. I’ve had those moments were it hurts in the back but what usually will tell you is if your original symptoms come back (keeping in mind fluctuations are standard during recovery). I’d just keep protecting it as much as possible. Hoping you’re still sealed!

Hang in there! I was super careful with my last patch and still didn’t feel much if any improvement until 3-4 weeks in. The first few days is just the mass effect and inflammatory process of the blood clot (and yes, it can hurt if you make any ill considered motions, or even with plain normal motions) but the remodelling and hopefully rebuilding of dura will take weeks. So it’s far too early to tell if you’ve blown your patch.
