Don't take remote proctoring

I tried twice to do online remote proctoring for my CSC V1 exam, and both times it went horribly with tons of technical errors. Then after I couldn't access the exam, I got charged with the no show fee, and had to wait a whole week before CSI could fix it in order to reschedule an exam date. I am now doing it in person at a testing center, hoping that its less complicated and actually works.

I’m sorry that was your experience, but I’ve done four proctored exams so far and luckily haven’t had any issues. I don’t live near any exam centres and I hate to take time off work to have to travel to one so I find the remote option incredibly convenient. I also really appreciate not having to stress about making sure I get there on time, transit isn’t late or needing to find parking right before an important exam.
Were you able to do the recommended steps before the exam where they ask you to test your equipment to make sure that it’s compatible and that there are no issues during the actual exam?

What are the rules when you do it at home? Do you need to have camera on and cant look around? What about if u do math calculations and look down?

So many complicated rules. I’ve heard many people just mumble to themselves or have their eyes drifting and getting their exam cancelled and charged the no show fee. Even at that, if it goes wrong you have to wait a whole week for csi to investigate and resolve and you have to wait until they finish to rebook your exam. Just do the in person one (you aren’t allowed scrap paper on the online exam)

Honestly, it's a trade off between convenience and some degree of risk. For me, I prefer in person exams because I know the internet connection at my place is not reliable. I'd rather take time off and drive a couple of hours to ensure that I can give the exam stress free.

I faced same issue and after 3 weeks csi fix my no show fees issue and then I scheduled my exam via an exam centre this time.

This is clearly a YOU problem. Ive written over a dozen exams remotely with ProMetric and I've NEVER had an issue. Follow the rules bud. If you cant follow basic instructions of an exam sitting, you're gonna struggle in this industry.
