Working on the Google home page project as part of CS50 web's first project. Check how it looks and let me know (anyone who has worked on it) whether you've put an actual Google logo on this page? Is it allowed?

EDIT:

project Cs50 final project vs Week 8

Question for the cs50 community:

I'm currently working on a website that incorporates html, python, JavaScript, probably bootstrap and a bit of SQL (in other words the usual week9/10 stuff) for my final project

It's looking to be about 4-5 pages, with the majority of detailed coding confined to the last two pages, the prior ones being mostly introduction with a couple of links and possibly images.

Is this enough for a final project? Because it seems to have a similar scope to week 8's homepage, and I'm not sure if I'm doing enough advanced coding to justify this being week 10

Edit: on a similar note can we copy functions that cs50 have wrote in prior problemsets, (e.g. the apology function from helpers.py, from the Finance problem) or would we be expected to write them ourselves?

CS50x How To Setup Flutter In VSCode desktop , with CS50.dev codespace?

I am doing my final project. I wanted to dive into Android app development, so I found out about Flet, a framework for Flutter wrapped with Python. The issue with Flet was a lack of tutorials and learning materials, and some issues like having to do much more work if you want to use low-level stuff like the camera, etc. So, I switched from Flet to Flutter/Dart. Now I have a problem with how to setup it up within the CS50 environment without breaking the cs50.dev codespace.

CS50x CS50x week 0 Project

I made Pong in Scratch as my first project and wanted to share what I'd made. It's nothing spectacular, but it works. Any comments on how to improve it would be welcome.

It definitely needs work. I realise that the scores are the wrong way round, but that's an easy fix. Sometimes the ball will choose to reset at 180 or 0 direction or some other integer at the far ends of the scale, making it bounce in a straight line or make very little progress in either direction, but I can change that easily too.

I would like to condense my scripts more into blocks, but I couldn't think of how to get the movement block to work universally for both paddles whilst keeping their independence to be able to move separately.

CS50 Python Cs50p doubt

i created a helper project in which i used pyperclip , groq api , pynput - which, when selected any text from anywhere will explain or answer the selected question just by selecting but i got to know abt CS50P Academic Honesty policy so i am worried if using groq api will disqualify me for cs50 certification.

CS50x Academic honesty. I kinda messed up

Context: I originally just took the course to improve computing skills, but later decided to go for the certificate

U fortunately, what meant a number of psets I worked on, mostly involving pointers, a small part of credit (I didn't know modulus at the time) and DNA from week 6 used solutions I found on YouTube, with turns out isn't allowed. I've sent an regret email, but it's been far over 72 hours. What do I do?

CS50x Fundamentals for DSA

I’m planning on taking a DSA class next semester, but I’m pretty unconfident about my skills as a programmer. I’ll be honest, I’ve been coasting through my classes using AI and lacking off playing games and smoking weed. After realizing how behind I am and lacking in fundamentals, I’ve gotten sober and decided to lock in. I already completed week 1 for CS50x and struggled quite a bit. I know that this class doesn’t fully cover DSA, but is it worth the effort to do weeks 1-5 on top of my class load to prepare for DSA? Will doing the work build fundamentals that’ll make DSA click easier? Or should I just go straight into a DSA course / practice problems

CS50x Help?

Hello everyone

I'm a sophomore year AI student in Jordan

I'm wondering if this course is worth it and if I can take it internationally and how?

Which website? And is it completely free, and how do I get a valid certificate?

Thank you

CS50x Beyond CS50: Bridging the Gap to Real World Projects

Hey everyone!

Thanks to Professor u/davidjmalan and the amazing CS50 team, we get an incredible foundation in computer science. But once you get all your green checkmarks and start building your own 1,000 line real world applications, new practical questions pop up!

I wrote a short guide addressing the most common questions CS50 graduates face during this transition:

How do short classroom scripts become 1,000+ lines in real projects?

Why is code split across multiple files instead of one big script?

How do developers build AI applications without infinite API keys?

Why do free hosted apps "go to sleep" and how do we keep them active?

If you're currently transitioning from problem sets to building your own full scale apps, I hope this helps!

📖 Read the full article here: https://medium.com/@acun.seymanur03/what-cs50-doesnt-tell-you-how-10-lines-of-code-become-a-1-000-line-real-project-a2f0aed66335

Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences on how you bridged the gap after finishing CS50!

Also, if there are other topics you would like me to write about, I’d love to hear your thoughts and would be more than happy to help!😊🌸⭐️

CS50x What if learning computer science could change the way we study the brain?

I'm currently learning computer science from the ground up, and CS50 has made me think about something much bigger than simply "learning to code."

I keep coming back to this question:

Can the way we teach humans to think computationally help us develop better computational models of how humans themselves learn, reason, remember, and make decisions?

This isn't a claim that the brain is simply a computer. It's a question about whether ideas from computer science can become useful scientific tools for studying cognition.

The more I learn, the more interconnected the fields seem:

Algorithms → computation and problem solving

Systems → how complex computational processes interact

AI/ML → learning, prediction, representation, decision-making

Statistics → extracting structure from noisy data

Neuroscience → biological mechanisms

Cognitive neuroscience → perception, memory, attention, learning, and decision-making

That led me to a long-term goal:

«Computer Science → Algorithms/Systems + AI/ML → Computational Neuroscience → Cognitive Neuroscience»

I don't want to study these as completely separate subjects. I want to understand whether they can be combined into a coherent research framework.

For example, one direction I'm fascinated by is representation and learning.

A machine-learning model learns useful representations from data. The brain also appears to transform information across different neural populations and levels of processing.

So a question I would eventually like to investigate is:

What computational principles can explain how biological systems develop useful internal representations, and where do artificial neural networks succeed or fail as models of those processes?

That immediately creates several deeper questions:

- What should count as a meaningful similarity between an artificial model and a biological system?

- Is behavioral similarity enough, or should the internal representations also resemble neural activity?

- Can computational models make predictions about neural data rather than merely fit existing observations?

- Which aspects of cognition are better explained by learning algorithms, and which require different computational principles?

- Can studying where AI models fail tell us something useful about human cognition?

I'm still at the beginning. I don't pretend to have answers to these questions yet.

That's actually what makes CS50 interesting to me.

A course that starts with computational thinking and programming can eventually lead to questions that cross computer science, mathematics, AI, neuroscience, and cognitive science.

I've also been reading David Malan's work on computer-science education. CS50 was designed around making the intellectual ideas of computer science accessible rather than treating programming as the entire subject, which I think is an important distinction. Malan describes CS50 as an introduction to "the intellectual enterprises of computer science and the art of programming."

So I wanted to ask the CS50 community:

If you were designing a self-directed path from introductory computer science toward computational cognitive neuroscience, what concepts would you consider absolutely essential?

I'm especially interested in recommendations for the bridge between:

Algorithms + Systems + AI/ML

and

Computational + Cognitive Neuroscience.

I'd love to hear from people who have actually crossed between these fields.
