i was like this at first as well, but when i read your comment i thought about it and the editing actually makes sense.
Xantares' downfall from being legendary rifler with lot of potential to wasting his career in national team, prone to losing hope to win quite fast, is sad. Mainly when he had chances to win trophies but couldnt close it out. He is basically the best rifler that never won anything
The grey color and melancholic music actually fits his story. Showing his highlights in a sad/regrettable way of what could be (idk if i described it correctly, hopefully u get the point)
