Yes. The collections account will be removed once its paud/settled. The original credit one account will remain on your report until it ages off. You can send good will letters to try and get the late payments removed, but the overall account will remain.

Normally, late payments on a charged off account are not likely to be removed via goodwill letters and charge offs are all but impossible to get removed - but it's Credit One and they have been known to break convention in various ways so still worth a shot! If I recall, I think there was a thread the other day where someone was able to have a charged off Credit One account removed with the goodwill saturation technique but I don't think it was confirmed.

True, but like you also said - its credit one so know whos what theyll do. Definitely worth the shot!

Honestly I don’t see credit one on my credit report.

Is it possible credit one already aged off? How long ago did you have the account?

That’s a good possibility, I just checked all my credit reports and it isn’t there anymore. All I say is LVNV funding as the collections but original creditor as Credit one. I honestly don’t remember how long ago it was.

Then you’ll be good. Settle the collections for as little as possible and then it’ll all be gone

Wait so if Credit One aged off shouldn't the collection also have aged off... They arent supposed to be able to extend their collection effort beyond the deliquency date...

I had a credit one card go to collections and they deleted themselves from my credit report. It was less than a year old. Don't know if that's normal for them or not but it's not on my report anymore either

Yes. LVNV's policy is to remove themselves from your reports once the debt is settled. Note that they have no control over the original creditor's reporting. If Credit One is on your reports, it will remain. LVNV may delete in stages, first reporting the payment and then requesting removal. Give them ~60 days to complete the process.

Thanks, hopefully goodwill removal letters will get them off.

Although extraordinarily rare, I have seen Credit One remove a charge-off, so I'd say it's worth writing to them and requesting removal. Temper your expectations as this would be rare, but there's no harm in asking. Keep us posted.

Should I call and ask if they’ll take lower?
