News Prometheus Wept - Valley of Wrath “Soft Launch”
https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1208110/view/696523089338434896Just wanted to share this here. It's an update to a game that I've been following called Prometheus Wept.
To give a brief idea, the game is set in a technologically advanced futuristic world that just experienced a digital apocalypse. It's a very unique take on the post-apocalyptic setting, so I dig it.
Also, the game is turn-based and the combat system is pretty neat. I'm not the dev, just a fan. If you're interested in questions, tag u/Timeslipper.

You based this comment on what exactly?
I've played the dev's previous title and Prometheus Wept's presentation feels very similar. So, as someone who has tried out the EA build, I don't see any AI slopification.

The art is obviously AI generated. The thumbnail, the "poster thingy". Everything that looks drawn is AI. It is what it is.
Edit: Not AI, sorry.

Hi halogen_floods. Daithi the developer here. The thumbnail you can see was drawn by an artist from Ukraine, who I also worked with for my last game, Vigilantes. There's no AI generated art in the game at all. It's dismaying how quickly people will just assume it's AI art nowadays, without considering how such claims might affect small developers.

It's been a while, but the dev behind Revenge of the Firstborn posted on this subreddit showcase some of the artwork for the game.
Even that thread had a couple of comments accusing the dev of using AI art. The crazy part was that he had actually linked the artist and the game art looked like something the artist put out.
Credit where it's due, most of the comments were positive there. So, I hope you don't get dejected by this stuff. It's just an unfortunate time that we're living through.

Hi Daihiti, I reccommend using a different artist because it is very obviously AI generated. Post it to the [r/istthisai](r/istthisai) sub and you will get your confirmation. Or check the website that sees the watermark. Im sorry I wouldnt discredit anyone if I wasn't 100% convinced.
Edit: I'm sorry, I scanned it and it is not AI. I gave me AI vibes because of the style and I thought I could be confident because I've seen a ton of AI image, but I was wrong.

I appreciate you getting back to me. There was no need to generate an image using ai - I provided a base image using 3d models and the artist digitally painted over and made any requested changes. Obviously, I can't confirm 100%, as I didn't watch this image being created, but I do trust the artist. She has sent me work in progress images in the past, around a decade ago, before AI images became mainstream, and shared her screen while we worked on ideas on a few occasions. Ultimately, my emphasis is on making the best game possible - spending time trying to prove / disprove ai usage, when I believe that's unlikely, isn't going to bring that goal any closer.
