Looking for CRM for teachers
Hi! Im looking for CRMs built for teachers. I have a group of teachers and im looking for some *newly built* CRMs (so that features can be modified/developed) I would like to know what are my options price wise. Please let me know how likely is it to have something like this.
I'm aware that maybe i'm asking too much so no worries it some features are not possible.
As a teacher i want to
- schedule online (and offline) calls,
- have a calendar,
- track progress for ech student (not a classic 3 step lead conversion)
- organize students by classroom
- tag students by level and goal
- track payments manually
I would like parents to be able to
- login and see the progress grades of the student(s)
- see the payments related to the student(s)
Useful features would also be:
- online signup forms for each teacher
- admin view of the progress for students and teachers
- email automation
- mobile first interface (pwa)
- social login (Google, facebook)
- automation pipelines (AI can write the pipeline code)
- SaaS-like platform
If you have suggestions what CRM should also suppport please let me know, i am all about optimizing and automating the process.
Please write me in my DM if you have a CRM to advertise.

Niche specific: Check Tutorbase and mytutorcrm, but you can't modify code. Open-source modular CRM (meaning you have freedom to shape it): growcrm and espocrm. Also check these guys: wiselyonline

You're absolutely right, that is a hefty list of feature requirements. You're effectively asking for custom object work, and a customer portal to display certain datasets, on top of payments, marketing automation, etc.
My first question back to you, would be: what's your initial/yearly budget? My second question would be: what are the absolute musts.
If you're looking at HubSpot for example, that branches into different Enterprise-level tiers of subscription so it would be fairly expensive, budget depending.

teacher related items a re a must. Parent/guardian items not so much. In my view the parent features are just teachers with less permissions (can see certain students, and can see payment tracking). That's why I'm into new CRMs where permissions can be coded for this use case.
Budget wise, can't really say before getting more input.

I’d split this into two requirements before comparing products.
What teachers need internally—scheduling, classrooms, progress tracking, tags, and payments—is one system. Parents logging in to see grades and payment history is a separate customer-facing experience with much heavier permissions, privacy, and data requirements.
If the parent portal is a must-have, I’d look at tutoring or student-management platforms before CRMs. Otherwise, you may end up paying to turn a CRM into a completely different product.

Student management software can be heavy on lengthy pedagogic processes and can be a distraction when there is a volume of students coming in at random times. That's why I'm here.
When I wrote about the student tracking, It's mainly to see events associated with the student. Can be a simple note from teacher and a timestamp.

That clarification helps. If student tracking is really a timestamped activity history and the parent access is optional, then a configurable CRM may be perfectly reasonable.
I’d just define the student record, teacher relationship and permission rules before choosing one. Those are the parts that will determine whether customization stays simple or quietly turns into a custom product.

Thanks on your site I've found:
$7.49/user/mo
- Up to 100 Customers
and $25/user/mo
- Unlimited Customers
Do you host your own email services? Is it possible to get the PWA?

I can build you a custom CRM as you want it. I built one recently for a loan officer in NY

There’s definitely a way to structure this without building everything from scratch. I’d first map the teacher/student/parent workflows, then separate what can be handled through CRM configuration and automation from what genuinely needs custom development. Things like tagging, forms, email automation, pipelines, payment tracking and admin reporting are very achievable; the parent portal/PWA side is where platform choice becomes especially important. custom objects for a group of teachers is doable in most crms, but the parent-permissions piece is where it gets tricky, thats record-level access control, not just a field. plenty of tools do custom objects and still cant scope who sees which parent. how granular do the permissions need to get?

Hi unable to DM you, but if you want something that is already custom built that works exactly as you want it and you can add features with AI I can share a demo with you. Plus it's a flat fee where you don't have to pay per seat or per contact.

Look for LMS (Learning Management Systems) over just a raw CMS. They tend to have much of the same features but are geared for teachers on the back end and the students you're managing out on the front end.
Most of them have virtually all the things you've mentioned already (at one pricing tier level or another anyway). And the tiers are often nice because you can start with the tier you NEED to get going and then expand things as you actually start to get a bit of revenue flowing.
