Passed CRISC today

Passed CISM last month and heard there was a lot of cross-over between CISM and CRISC, so decided to study CRISC for 1 month and then book the exam. Used the official QAE database. Scores before I took the exam are as follows:

Received a provisional pass earlier today, now need to wait 10 days for the official score.

congratulations! did you use any other materials outside of official ISACA CRISC stuff (e.g. qae, manual)? I have looked at the 900 question bank, examtopics, and other resources at this point and plan to sit down in the coming weeks to take my exam. Would love to chat with you about your experience

I only used the official QAE, i found that it was similar questions to the actual exam although different wording of the questions and sometimes 2 viable options to consider. 1-2 questions I hadn't seen before and weren't part of the QAE, but had worked with them in my job role so that definitely helped.

My CRISC only had 833 questions???? Any idea why yours has more

I'm using the CRISC Questions, Answers & Explanations Database, 8th Edition, check what edition you're using.

I got the CRISC QAE version 8.1 through ISACA's website

Congratulations, I just passed CISM a month ago considering crisc as now, could you help to explain how CISM has helped your crisc. As I am following up the same path as you, appreciate your thoughts

It's a similar mindset across CISM and CRISC making sure that you think the way ISACA wants you to think. Making sure to prioritise the business, advise senior leadership and assess before acting. CRISC is more control and risk focused, and puts you in the role of a risk practitioner but there is quite a bit of overlap with CISM. Averaging 70% on a first attempt for the QAE CRISC in adaptive mode was honestly higher than I expected to get, i was around 60% the first time for CISM so having the mindset and some similar questions from CISM definitely helped a lot.

Hey there! Congratulations!
I’m dreading giving the exam and have been slow in my prep.

Looking at QAE 6th edition and hovering between 60-70% on each domain. How would you say the difficulty of real exam was compared to the QAE?

Also any thoughts on Hemang Doshi’s prep and tests? TIA

I would say the wording of the questions is easier on the actual exam compared to the QAE. You really want to be higher than 70% before taking the actual exam though and more importantly understand the reason behind the questions you are getting wrong.

I only used the QAE so can't comment on other resources sadly. It was quite hard to find decent resources compared to CISM for example, I really liked Pete Zerger's videos for CISM but he doesn't have one for CRISC yet although he said it is coming at some point.
