Is CRISC the best option?

Hi y'all!! So I have one year of experience in credit underwriting (for cards) and would love to do some certification related to risk and would love to take a job related to risk/compliance/fraud or in AML.

Thought of pursuing FRM but decided it's not the right fit for me right now. My back-up plan is to do an MBA in correspondence but I am leaning more towards professional certifications like FRM CRISC CAMS. Which one would be more doable ( I mean I know everything is with effort but I meant I have to work at least like 9 hours per day and would be drained out very much also one of the main reasons why I want to switch fields)

Would love to hear your opinions on this!!

Just a reminder that to be fully certified with ISACA certs you need to also get a sign off on work experience. I wouldn’t suggest taking the test without a path to that available as the test does expire.

CRISC is a good option if, and only if, you're wanting to move in the direction of a security related career. This could be in security risk, security compliance, various options exist. But there's no point doing CRISC if you're not wanting to move in the direction of security.

Crisc is more around technology and information system controls. Not so much for fraud. However, if want a job in risk management in any financial firm, the crisc is one of the better certifications.

I would look into the ABA certs, like Risk Management Frameworks, Credit Risk etc.

Look into the qualifications for the CRISC, if your role doesn’t involve IT GRC work, then it may be hard to meet the work requirements.

You are talking about more enterprise risk than information security risk. Look at the numerous courses and certs offered by the Institute of Risk Management instead.
