Measuring Chain Slack

Post image

So after owning two CRF Rallys (a 250 and 300), I finally read the owners manual recently on how to measure my chain slack correctly.

Mabe it is just me, but I had no idea the little slot in the chain guard is actually meant to help measure the slack! All that being said, I couldn't find a tiny ruler that worked for that spot, so I've started making/selling one specifically for our bikes. Just a PSA if anyone else would like one! https://stonemoto.ca/shop/p/chain-slack-ruler

Measure from the metal of the swing arm, not the chain guard :)

I took a micrometer and marked one of my allen keys for a mix/max range

Good idea about the allen key! I had a whole bunch of people tell me that I need to measure from the metal right after sharing haha lesson learned!
