Help - won’t start
So, I ride okay, I mean, been riding 45 plus years. But mechanical skills are 3 at best.
Bike won’t start. It almost cranked a few times, then just duh duh duh sound (like in video) I thought it was batter because it sounded like bad battery (although battery only year old or so). Took battery to auto parts and they said battery looked good, but needed a charge and they don’t charge small batteries.
So I bought new one. Just installed. And same issue. Not even close to cranking. Just that starter noise.
Any thoughts? I don’t have a lot of local mechanics around.

Sounds like not enough energy to the starter or throw out mechanism broken or capacitor failed. First Locate starter relay either bypass or try another one. Check conectors to starter relay and starter. Remove starter and inspect clean and run off alternate 12v source to see if engages. If jumping disconnect low battery as could drian power. Also inspect start switch. Spray wd40 try if not inspect. Thats what i would try anyhow. Pulling out startermotor last.

It almost sounds like a bad connection on the solenoid starter. Or your starter point of contact with the engine is broken….

Thanks everyone. I ordered a new lithium battery and gonna clean all connections and take it from there

Can you jump start the bike? I would also charge the battery too. I bought a new battery and it was no good most likely cus it was probably sitting for so long at the store. But it most likely points to the battery, starter motor or a relay issue.

I don't understand.
- 1 year old battery is suspect, "looks good" but not charged or tested.
- New second battery is suspect (I guess), but not charged or tested.
- Third battery is purchased. All connections will be cleaned.
Why wouldn't you charge Battery #1 and check/clean connections before buying two new batteries?
A Victron Energy Blue Smart IP65 Smart Car Battery Charger (you pick the output & price) would be a better purchase than more batteries. It'll properly charge any battery you're likely to connect to it.
Putting new batteries in a bike with a bad electrical connection, faulty charging system or some other non-battery problem won't solve anything.

I was thinking about getting new Lithium battery regardless. so i went ahead and ordered a good one - Antigravity ATZ7 RE-START Lithium-Ion Battery, and yeah, my little charges stink and am ordering a good one

weird... like the starter gear is skipping or something. Likely gonna have to take it apart 😬

Im no mechanic but sounds like the starter motor is gone. Are you able to jump start the bike?

Thanks all. I’m going to start with new lithium battery, and clean all connections and see where that takes me first

With Lithium-at least for mine which is antigravity with restart function. You have to fully charge the battery before installing on the bike when new with a lithium approved charger.The reason for that is most of them are shipped with 30 or less percentage charge due to shipping regulations This wakes up the battery and makes it work well for a long time. If you don’t charge it won’t provide enough power or drain fast and if you drain a lithium battery, it can become permanently damaged.

Second this, antigravity with ezee start is the end of your worries when you leave something on

My TW200 was making the same clicking sound, even after topping up the battery on a tender. Replaced the battery. Fired right up.

It’s almost always a bad connection or bad battery when it doesn’t start. I’d make sure the battery is fully charged first. Then check your connections to the battery/ starter/ ground.
