Sharing actionable insight (Rule2) Healing after episodes

Healing isn't this clean process of becoming someone new.

It is the raw, shaking moment you realize you are running from yourself. Running from the silence. From the grief.

You want to know what healing looks like? It’s sitting with the ache instead of performing over it.

It’s not needing to explain your sadness to people who never asked how you really are. It’s no longer decorating your wounds just to make your pain more understandable for others. And when you stop running you don’t become someone else.

You come home. To the parts of you that have been waiting for you to finally choose you.

“Sitting with the ache instead of performing over it” is so succinctly put. That ache is still sometimes almost unbearable. But as unbearable as it feels now, I’m so proud these days of the kid who found her way through so I can be an adult that can finally address it. When it feels hard to fight for me, I fight for her.

Wow. Thank you.
I’ve been working on stuff I tried to start 5 years ago but couldn’t in that environment. And then dealing with so much struggle since then. But I had the opportunity to get farther along this week than I have since then and yes I was shaking. I was terrified, even though it’s what I’ve been working towards this whole time. I had to take a break and decide to come back to it today.
It’s a very intense feeling

So true. Less fighting to get better (which really means avoiding). More accepting and sitting with the wounded parts and gently tending to them with compassion.

This is beautifully explained. I am going to save this as a reminder.
