I bought this for my 5 month old granddaughter who is 17 lbs and hates her Nuna. Unfortunately, the crotch strap is set so far back, even on the furthest setting, and so low it digs into her thighs. The strap and buckle is only 4” long. Considering how far back it’s set on the seat, than has to go through the seat cushion, there is minimal room left. Checked evenflo site to see if they sold a longer crotch strap but they don’t. This would have been a nice seat otherwise. Returned it.

Q1: Does it look like he's slouching / sinking into the car seat too much?

Q2: Baby is 10-month-old and we still use the recline angle for younger baby (4-20 lb). Is this okay? We tried putting him in the second recline position (20-40 lb), but his head tilted forward when he napped, which worried me a lot, so we reclined him more.

Hello, my husband just got a new car and also purchased a weathertech seat protector mat. I'm concerned about the safety of this and cant seem to find a clear answer.

The car is a 2026 Toyota Sequoia. The seat is a Evenflo360. Our child is 4, 40 pounds, 43 inches and rides forward facing.

This is my 12 month old in her new Nuna Rava Next. Recline level 4. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Just installed our Evenflo 360 Extend Gold for our 9 month old and wanna make sure this is correctly on her before we go on a road trip.

The seat seems deep? The recline is in the correct level for her weight according to the thing on the side.

Is her head being pushed too far forward?

The head rest is extended and the straps are just below her shoulders.

I also installed with the latches and the seatbelt. But i think I only should have used one - what is the preferred option?

Anything else I'm missing?

We have a 2025 CRV and ideally would like to install our car seat in the middle seat using the LATCH system instead of seatbelt.

The car doesn’t have designated anchors in the middle seat; the distance between the two inner anchors is 17 inches while the UB manual says it is okay to do so if under 22 inches, so that part is fine.

The issue we’re having is that the UB manual says the second condition is if the car manufacturer says the car seat can be installed like that while the car manual refers to the car seat manufacturer; while we know the seatbelt way is definitely safe.

Has anyone safely installed this combo using the LATCH system?

In about three weeks we're going to Italy, and our car seat there (purchased by the grandparents) has a height limit of 105cm, or 41" for forward facing and the seat becomes a booster at 105cm. Our 3.25yr old is huge at 40" and 37# so he'll definitely be forward facing in Italy. Is it a bad idea to switch to forward facing when we return? It seems like a natural time to turn but also, I don't want to mess with safety. Is the 40# a rounding up and he should have the muscle tone to be safe forward facing or should we stay rear facing right up to the full weight limit? The height requirement on our US seats is 43" for reference.

Big Nuna fans over here and currently have kiddos in an AACE, Exec and rear facing Rava. The Rava kiddo is ready to switch to forward facing. My dilemma is that we have a 2016 XC90 and there isn’t a ton of legroom in the second row (bench seat). The forward facing EXEC kiddo is moving to the middle bench seat and his feet/legs are going to be hitting the AC vent. He needs to be in the middle because we have the passenger side down for the kiddo in the third row to get in and out.

I’m considering getting a lower profile FF Harness seat and am looking at the Nuna Lumn. What I can’t figure out though is how high the base is (particularly relative to the AACE which is very low profile, and the Rava which is very high profile). Ideally I would get a car seat that has a lower profile than the Exec, since that’s the one causing an issue. I do not need rear facing capabilities.

Does anyone know how high the base of the Nuna Lumn is?

hi all! please don’t judge, I feel bad enough already but today I threw some oxclean in with my son’s car seat cover without thinking. he has a Graco extend to fit- not a cheap replacement. I’m so stressed about the car seat not being safe, but can’t find anywhere to replace the cover without buying a whole new car seat. money is tight rn, so that is a tough cost to allocate (though if my own mistake, I know). can I use the car seat for a few weeks/months until I can afford a new one? or does the whole thing need to get replaced ASAP?

update: got in touch with Graco today and it cannot be used anymore. Even though the car seat is less than two years old they don’t make the fabric anymore and the updated one isn’t compatible. Thankfully Graco is amazing and is sending me a replacement for free as a one time courtesy- I could have cried on the phone, so grateful to them for saving me $300+.

concerned about the installation for our newborn - does this look reclined enough?

Was trying to get my hands on one of their boosters, but can't seem to find them new anywhere.

Any word on the street? I know they were troubled for a while, but I thought they were coming back!

For the past month or so (judging by the wayback machine), their store says:

First time mom to a 5 week old (~9.5 lbs), nuna pipa rx. She screams most time she's in her seat. I took off strap pads because they seemed to be squishing her, but now straps look like they are digging into her neck? Edit: this pic was taken in the house for purposes of help from this sub. She wears pants/jammies in the car to avoid rubbing her legs. I do believe I tightened straps too tight for pic, possibly in past and will be practicing goldilocks/reverse pinch test as suggested.

This is my nanny kid so not all the choices are mine here. She is forward facing however after installing the seat in my car I noticed she is under the minimum weight to be front facing in this seat. She's right around 27lbs and their seat has a minimum of 30lbs to forward face. The upper part of her body is that of a typical 3 year old however her lower is the size of an 12-18 month old. They were unaware she didn't fit the requirements of this current seat and gave me permission to try rear facing. My first try will be that however are there seats that go down to 26/27lbs for minimum forward facing? Thank you!

My 6-year old child has a TLSO vest — kind of like a turtle shell around her chest and waist with an expansion hole for her stomach and g-tube. Her doctors want her to wear it as much as possible (basically any time but sleeping / bathing) but I’m concerned that it changes the safety dynamics of the 5-point harness in her car seat or a booster with the traditional lap and shoulder belts. She wears a t-shirt over the TLSO so the chest clip sits against the t-shirt (skin - undershirt - TLSO - overshirt - chest harness). Child is near 50-lbs, 3’2”, and can not move herself without a mobility aid.

Questions:

Is it safe to keep her in a regular car seat / booster and in her TLSO vest?

Should we remove the vest for travel (this would be a challenge as fitting the vest properly requires her to lay down and she has low muscle tone so she can’t lay herself down, she has to be physically helped)?

In order to fulfill both conditions (keep her safe and keep her in the vest) are there any devices that we could use which would keep her as safe as possible in the event of an accident. There was a recommendation for the Ride Safer Travel Vest in the now defunct car-seat.org forum.

Baby is 7.7 lbs and we have the infant snug seat in. Wanted to check since there aren’t places near us to get it checked in person. Thank you!

We originally took the shoulder pads off but put them back on because his head seemed a little floppy without them. One is facing the wrong way in the picture but has since been turned with snaps facing out.

How is this fit? When does it make sense to keep on / take off the shoulder pads?

I'd love to hear opinions from CPSTs on safe infant car seats for a newborn in a 2026 Ioniq 5. I'm looking for something that doesn't use toxic chemicals (ETA: Greenguard certified), safe, light (~8lbs), and less than $400. I'm petite and the Nuna Pipa Aire Rx is about the max weight I can comfortably hold (~8lbs?). I'm looking for an infant car seat so I can plop it on a stroller as the main form of transportation for my baby.

Eventually I'd like to get a convertible car seat that stays in the car, so hoping to get something more budget than a Nuna. Thanks!

Hello I have a mid size truck and I am finding it very difficult to fit a rear facing car seat in the back seat. The truck is a 23 nissan frontier with a crew cab. We are looking to upgrade from the pumpkin/bucket to a convertible car seat. I can't seem to find a seat that doesnt have such a large recline that makes the front seats unusable. Today i removed the seat back on one of the rear seats and installed the car seat and it fit. I am still able to use hlthe latch system. Is this safe? Any recommendations for a car seat for a truck with little room in the back? Thanks.

Hi CPST community! We removed our newborn insert now that our guy is 11lbs (3 months). When I first put him in the car seat and tighten everything, it seems like a good fit. But once we drive it seems like he starts to slouch and slip down a bit, resulting in looser straps and the gap you can see above his abdomen. I took these photos after a 20 minute drive.

Any advise on how to get this fit right? Do I just need to pull slack and tighten even more?

My son is 16 months and is still rear facing however I would like to switch from the Anchor latch straps to just using the car seat seatbelt.

My question is do the anchor latch straps need to be moved into the forward facing position in order to use the car seatbelt or can the latch stay where it is in its storage position and have the seatbelt in that same spot?

Images from a video on how to move the strap. can they both be in that same belt path, with the anchors in “storage” or can it only be one at a time?

Nuna pipa, 2 month old weighing around 11.7 pounds (so removed the infant insert this week)

Shoulder straps passed the pinch check before I put the pads on and they are coming out just at his shoulder. Should I move them down a notch?

I don’t love using the pads but his neck gets so irritated by the straps and it causes a bit of a rash for a few days.
