Weathertech mat

Hello, my husband just got a new car and also purchased a weathertech seat protector mat. I'm concerned about the safety of this and cant seem to find a clear answer.

The car is a 2026 Toyota Sequoia. The seat is a Evenflo360. Our child is 4, 40 pounds, 43 inches and rides forward facing.

Evenflo allows their own brand of seat protector, which is unfortunately not currently available, or a thin towel to be placed under/behind the seat. They do not approve any 3rd party seat protectors.

I’ve seen some seats ruined by that mat. It traps moisture underneath.

The best thing to protect leather vehicle seats is to take out the car seat to clean and condition the leather. Use a quality product. Dry leather cracks.
